Fun fact. If you have the Original Broadway Cast Album or a program from the same original production in the 1990s, check the names of the actresses listed as playing the Hunnies. Mamie Duncan-Gibbs, Stephanie Pope Lofgren, and Allison M. Williams. These are the same actresses playing the roles they originated 32 years later.

I saw Charlie and the chocolate factory at the Paramount Theater in Seattle when the show was on tour in the U.S. and I was very disappointed when they cast the adult actors to play the four nasty kids. It's bad idea and a bad decision that the producers have made when the show first came to Broadway. The problem with this casting is they don't look like kids. When they are standing next to their parents they look about the same age and when they are standing next to Charlie which was the only child actor in the show they are too tall. Plus when the adult actors are playing Augustus, Veruca, Violet and Mike in the Broadway version they are really awful in their acting, comedy and how they preform. They also ruined a bunch of 10 and 12 year old boys and girls dreams of being a naughty kid on stage. They also did the same thing with the U.K. Tour version as well. Since the show closed in London both the Broadway and U.K.Tour versions screwed everything up on the West End version by casting adult actors to play the four nasty kids, making the show dark and very inappropriate for kids to see. In fact both of these versions could have kept the West End production the same like they did with Matilda and just do two or three sets of child actors playing Augustus, Veruca, Violet, Mike and Charlie so they won't have to hire as many children. I heard from a lot of people that they prefer the London's West End version over the Broadway and U.K.Tour versions because it's all about the child actors playing theses characters and I have to agree with them and it makes perfect sense.Their casting of child actors to play the five Golden Ticket winners is much better than the Broadway and U.K.Tour versions a few years later. When the show is back on Broadway and back on tour in the U.S. and in the U.K. I hope they will correct this in the future and allow child actors on Broadway and National Tour and in the U.K. Tour to play Augustus, Veruca, Violet and Mike in Charlie and the chocolate factory. For the Broadway version they need to make the show less dark, more kid friendly and make it a little more like the West End version. Because it's ok to have a stage show that follows the book and it doesn't always have to be like the 1971 and 2005 films. Not only that, if the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle or any other Theatre in the United States and the United Kingdom want to recreate their own stage production of Charlie and the chocolate factory and make it a better version and get a revival on Broadway and on tour in the UK and USA then they not only they need to include child actors to play Augustus, Veruca, Violet, Mike and Charlie but here are the songs they should use for act 1 and act 2 from the West End version, Broadway version and stage school/community theatre productions of Willy Wonka. Act 1: 1. Opening 2. Golden Age of Chocolate 3. Almost Nearly Perfect 4. The Amazing Fantastical History of Mr. Willy Wonka 5. A Letter from Charlie Bucket 6. News Of Augustus/More Of Him To Love 7. News Of Veruca/When Veruca Says 8. Think Positive 9. News Of Violet/The Double Bubble Duchess 10. News Of Mike/It's Teavee Time! 11. If Your Mother Were Here 12. Don'cha Pinch Me, Charlie/I've Got A Golden Ticket 13. It Must Be Believed To Be Seen Act 2: 1. Strike That, Reverse It 2. The Chocolate Room/Simply Second Nature 3. Augustus' Downfall/Auf Wiedersehen Augustus Gloop 4. There's No Knowing 5. Gum!/Juicy! 6. In This Room Here 7. Veruca nutcracker sweet 8. Vidiots 9. Pure Imagination 10. A Little Me 11. It Must Be Believed to Be Seen (Reprise)

I say Hell’s Kitchen deserves to win for Best Musical, Best Performance By A Leading Actress In A Musical (Maleah Joi Moon-Hell’s Kitchen as Ali) Best Direction In A Musical (Michael Greif - Hell’s Kitchen) and for Best Book of a Musical (Kristoffer Diaz - Hell’ Kitchen) I really want Hell’s Kitchen to win for Best Musical, please. I’m a huge fan of Alicia Keys. Hard to believe that she grew up in Hell’s Kitchen in NYC. Hope we get a film adaptation of the musical broadway soon with either Sony Pictures/ Columbia Pictures or Tristar Pictures, Lionsgate, Paramount Pictures, Focus Features, Universal Pictures, 20th Century Fox (which now goes by 20th Century Studios), Fox Searchlight Pictures, or Warner Bros Pictures or Warner Bros Pictures/ New Line Cinema distributing the film (As long as it’s not on streaming like Netflix and Amazon). Who should direct the film adaptation? I think it should be the one and only Queen of R&B Alicia Keys!
